For those who love classic Christmas activity, the Victorian Christmas Fayre in Zeijen is an absolute must. This market at home furnishing shop De Oranjerie immerses you in the atmosphere of Charles Dickens. Think old lanterns, costumed performers, fire pits and beautiful bric-a-brac stalls full of vintage Christmas decorations. Here it's not about crowds, but atmosphere. Saturday 6 December the market is open from 11:00 - 18:00 and Sunday 7 December from 11:00 - 17:00. Entrance: €5.00 p.p.

On Tuesday 9 December 2025 from 5pm to 9pm, the village of Odoorn will transform into an atmospheric winter village. The centre around the church and village square is easily accessible, and admission is free.

Charity Christmas market Rolde
There will be a Charity Christmas Market at the Jacobus Church in Rolde on 12 December. The market will be open from 16:00 to 21:00. The proceeds from the Christmas market will be divided, half going to Stichting behoud Rolderkerk and the other half this year to the Association Gered Gereedschap Groningen. Bring any tools you no longer need to the Christmas market and hand them in. You can also win great prizes in a raffle.

This indoor Christmas market is a perfect mix of tranquillity, cosiness and festive experience. The Eelde-Paterswolde Christmas Market is an atmospheric, easily accessible Christmas outing on Saturday 13 December 2025 from 15:00 to 20:00 in the centre of Eelde, in and around the Dorpskerk and Drents Museum de Buitenplaats.
Christmas market Schoonoord
Help Ellert and Brammert through Christmas and come to the Giant Cosy Christmas Market in Schoonoord. On Saturday, the market is open from 13:00 to 19:00 and on Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00. The entire open-air museum will be completely in Christmas atmosphere and there will be cosy stalls and food trucks.

Christmas market Eext
Even closer to home you will find the Christmas market of Eext, just a few kilometres from Anderen. Here, on the centuries-old brink, the village community gathers for a feast of lights, music and winter delicacies. The market is small-scale, but oh so atmospheric. The entire brink is decorated with lights and Christmas greenery, and the smell of freshly baked oliebollen fills the air. Local choirs sing carols, and it seems as if time stands still for a moment.
